The first time a baby cries sounds sweeter than any other cry because that means he is alive.
When someone says “I love you” for the first time, your life stops just for a moment as you savor those words.
Movements become slow the moment you walk across a stage because you graduated as thoughts float in your mind of how hard you worked to get there.
When your child smiles the moment she discovers something new and real through her eyes, you want to take a picture of her face and embed the memory in your brain forever.
Life’s Little Moments
Life is full of these little moments that sometimes we take for granted. We pack our plates so full of to-do lists that sometimes we forget to pause. Live in the now. Be still. Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s important to be busy and productive. Please, just don’t forget to take a moment to pause and be thankful for the precious little moments you have in your life. One thing no one can take from us is our memories. Create them and savor them.
I’ve been missing in action over the summer because I had all of the kiddos home from school. I was getting hard on myself because I was trying to keep up with all of my “to-do” lists while having the kids home.
I remembered what happened to Jy when he was paralyzed and in a coma (Guillain-Barre Syndrome and encephalitis), and I thought about how quickly you can lose your loved ones.
I decided to cut myself some slack and enjoy the summer with the kids.
Even my anti-hanging out with family teenager had a good time playing football with Jy. This wasn’t the greatest clip, but they had a good time.
I hope you all had a great summer. Time to get back into the swing of things. As your schedule gets busier, remember to pause. Enjoy now. A little bit of reflection can go a long ways. Memories are the best!
Have a wonderful day!
