The first time a baby cries sounds sweeter than any other cry because that means he is alive.
When someone says “I love you” for the first time, your life stops just for a moment as you savor those words.
Movements become slow the moment you walk across a stage because you graduated as thoughts float in your mind of how hard you worked to get there.
When your child smiles the moment she discovers something new and real through her eyes, you want to take a picture of her face and embed the memory in your brain forever.
Life’s Little Moments
Life is full of these little moments that sometimes we take for granted. We pack our plates so full of to-do lists that sometimes we forget to pause. Live in the now. Be still. Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s important to be busy and productive. Please, just don’t forget to take a moment to pause and be thankful for the precious little moments you have in your life. One thing no one can take from us is our memories. Create them and savor them.
Summer
I’ve been missing in action over the summer because I had all of the kiddos home from school. I was getting hard on myself because I was trying to keep up with all of my “to-do” lists while having the kids home.
I remembered what happened to Jy when he was paralyzed and in a coma (Guillain-Barre Syndrome and encephalitis), and I thought about how quickly you can lose your loved ones.

I decided to cut myself some slack and enjoy the summer with the kids.

Even my anti-hanging out with family teenager had a good time playing football with Jy. This wasn’t the greatest clip, but they had a good time.
Enjoy Now
I hope you all had a great summer. Time to get back into the swing of things. As your schedule gets busier, remember to pause. Enjoy now. A little bit of reflection can go a long ways. Memories are the best!
Have a wonderful day!

“Life is full of these little moments that sometimes we take for granted…”
That paragraph really had me. Because it is one of the basic truths of life (P.G) – be productive AND grateful.
Awesome post, Mom. Love the pictures. I’m glad y’all had fun.
P.S. Jy’s SMILE!! Love it.

Hello Ipuna,
I’m glad to see your son on the beach, because I know he is ok now.And that is the most important. In one period of my life I wrote a letter to my mother And I told her “I am sorry that I sometimes took you for granted. Thank you for everything, I enjoy every day in your company.I love you so much and I just want to say you that, although I know that you know that”
Thank you

That’s such a sweet thing to say to your Mom, Ben.
I make it a point to tell her (including my adopted ones – though one is VERY stubborn) every day. Because Moms are one of a kind. And should never be taken for granted.

Thank you so much Jainey 🙂
Somehow, we are living with our family, and we never tell them how much they mean to us in our lives. I do not want to regret because of something I did not do.
Thank you for your great comment

What a blessing your trip to the beach, the hiking, just being with your family outside of the daily schedule. You are so right about the memories. We don’t remember what we got for Christmas, or even what we got for out birthdays but we will remember the times that you described with your family. If you don’t believe me go home and ask them what they got for those occasions, they won’t remember. But they can tell you every little trip you have shared. God Bless you. Thank you for sharing this wonderful summer with us 🙂

Wonderful! I love how you added all the nice photos! We should indeed make lots of memories because as you said no one can take them from us. Sometimes when I don’t have money or time to go out and do things or if im just feeling a little down, thinking on a good memory of a time I did something awesome really gives me joy and helps me to keep going!

Ipuna, yes we must enjoy the little moments of life. Great post. Our thinking wavelength is matching to an extent that we wrote on a similar topic, even without a collaboration. Have a great weekend.

Wow. I ran out of “likes.” Your pictures and story were wonderful. Then I started reading the comments and had to “like, like, like” until I liked out! The picture of Batiquitos Lagoon’s flat trail made it very inviting. The Pokemon Go idea was cool too. I wondered if that app was still around! Thank you for sharing!

Ha ha on the app! My 9 year old still LOVES that Pokemon Go app. He walked three miles because of it. Ha ha! Thank you for your kind words. The Batiquitos Lagoon is gorgeous. Such a nice walk or run.

What an awesome post, and I loved it. Those little moments have the ability to shape and define our lives, that’s why we should be mindful about them, and once they are ingrained into our memory, then they become a great story to share with others, as you just did here. Thanks for sharing Ipuna, peace and blessing to you and your household.
