Have you had a wonderfully productive week? I’m sure you have! But doesn’t it sometimes feel like you can never check off everything on your to-do list? The list keeps growing with everyday situations. Often it’s go go go for all of us. Please remember that although you are needed and pulled in ten different direction, don’t forget to take care of yourself. This includes rest. I’m not the greatest at slowing down my motor to rest. Sometimes my body forces me to take a break. I need to rest more often. We all do. Here are three benefits of rest to remind us that it’s a good think to slow down sometimes.
3 Benefits of Rest- Slow Down
- Your brain is sharper. Your reaction time and attention to detail decrease when you are running on fumes.
- Allows room for inspiration. Per the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, ““Silence is where we get outbursts of inspiration, our tender feelings of compassion and empathy, our sense of love.” When we allow our bodies and minds to rest physically and/or through meditation, we are opening the door for inspiration, possibly to accomplish more than we ever dreamed of.
- Lightens your mood, which leads to increased positivity. I’m not quoting anyone on this one. When I don’t get enough mental and physical sleep, I’m a bear! 🐻 That’s a cute bear. I’m not a cute bear. I’m like a hungry bear that can’t think straight! It’s hard to be positive when you’re like that. Give me some sleep, and I’m a new person. Life is about balance. Don’t forget your precious sleep/rest when you are finding that balance that works for you. You will be more positive and productive.
How to Rest
Take a nap if you need to.

Or just take a rest from the busy world and enjoy nature. The busy world will be waiting for you when you return!

Weekend!
I hope you enjoy your weekend. Spend time with your loved ones, enjoy nature, and catch up on that needed rest! ❤️

So, true and I am not the cute bear when I don’t get sleep either lol I get peace just sitting out early morning or at dusk when all the animals are out and about, and soak up their peaceful beauty

WOW! That sounds very peaceful. We don’t have animals out and about here in Vegas.

I’ll have to post a picture of the rabbits. They are so quick running around acting crazy, makes it difficult to get a picture but I’ll try. It’s hard not to smile at them. 🙂

Thanks for this reminder. Often times we’re flocked by tantamount works that needed to be done and we forego rest to finish it fast. But it soon backfires on our productivity, creativity and health.❤😊

Great you always add a little research with your own experiences. What an awesome combination. What more could a reader ask for in search of a little guidance or inspiration. And the too cute pictures complete the picture. Huh! Can I use the same word twice in one sentence? Great post!!!

What an awesome post. I really love it due to its purpose. We really need rest most of the time to recuperate and rejuvenate. Also there are many things we can only see or experience when we slow down. Thanks for sharing Ipuna and continue spreading positivity.

Thanks so much for the reminder. It was much needed. Nowadays we are so busy in our lives, day and night, that we hardly give any importance to resting. Your post is actually an eye opener. Look forward to reading more posts from you. All the best.

Very insightful post. I usually get about 7-8 hours of rest every night. I imagine that will decrease when I have kids. But for now, I’m getting plenty of rest. I noticed around 2pm every day, I feel a overwhelming sensation called tiredness. My coworkers think that it is just my biological clock trying to tell me something. Perhaps a nap? Lol. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on rest! As it is so important for us.

7-8 hours is great! Even after you have children, you should try to keep that schedule. It is best for your body. You won’t be able to with a baby, but once you are past that stage, you should shoot for it. I can get so much more done and am a happier person if I can get my rest.

Indeed! Me too! Much happier with at least 7 hours sleep. Same thing with food. I need food in my belly or I’m not a very happy person. Thank you for the advice! ☺️

I did not make this way that I am happen. It just happened. In our Father’s time. Same is happening with all of us. Time to have fun. To relax. To let it happen. Much love. thiaB 🙂

Yes yes yes yes. I cannot love this post any more. This is something I constantly am trying to work on. It’s crazy how we’ve been conditioned to not want to ‘relax,’ but instead run our bodies down until we get sick. Thank you for the great reminder!!
