As the end of the year approaches (yikes! It came quickly!), I can’t help but reflect on what I’ve accomplished and what I plan to accomplish. Hopefully, this is a never ending reflection for all of you too.
How many of you have some goals that seem to appear on your New Year’s resolutions year after year? Raise your hand. Okay. My hand is raised. This can seem discouraging, but I don’t see it that way. I see it as persistent. Reaching anything meaningful or important to us is a process. We learn and grow every step of the way. You should be further along in reaching those goals this year than you were last year. It’s important to remember and embrace the progress you have made. Learn from your failures and persistent forward. If you keep pushing forward, you are bound to reach your goals, right?
I also believe all of our goals are rooted in reaching endeavors we find important and/or necessary to make a difference or an impact in this world. Therefore, through persistence, we will learn more about ourselves. (And I’m not sure why “that’s” is in lowercase? An artistic perspective? I didn’t create the picture. I just like it.)
I had to add this picture because I like to run (not the marathon runner type- just for my mind and physical health). (PS: All you marathon runner types are amazing and persistent!!!) This quote basically sums up persistence and my New Year’s goals. My favorite part of this quote is “believing in a cause and being distracted by nothing else.” I recently create a personal mission statement for myself so that I could identify what my beliefs are at my core. This is the driving force behind all of my goals. And if I truly believe in a cause, I need to do whatever it takes to reach my goals for the cause.
I hope you all are not discouraged when you see some of the same goals on your New Year’s resolutions as you saw last year. Keep your cause in mind, persistent forward, and continue to find out who you are. I’m right there with you!

Shiva! You would be the first friend to comment because you are amazing like that :). I miss your positive words! Sorry for being a slacker. I have been busy with my son, Jy. He is doing well, but it’s been a LOOONNNGGG road. He is still not 100%, but he is getting there! I do have a lot of compassion in my heart. I hope I am able to continue to help others. That’s the plan for 2017 at least. Thank you for checking in. I will be much better about posting more often. I have to view your blog on a regular basis as well to get a dose of positive energy. May you be blessed in 2017 and on as well! 🙂
