What’s for Dinner?

Stretching your money when you go out to dinner.

I don’t like to cook. We all have things we are good at or like to do. For me, cooking is not it. Life is about balance. For me, cooking can take a ton of time, so sometimes, I take it off my plate.

It can be expensive feeding a family of six! Therefore, we find creative ways to stretch our money. Here is one.

  • Buy Elephant Bar gift cards from Costco. You can get two $50 cards ($100 total) for $79.99.
  • Use a coupon.

Pay attention to the “junk” mail. We get Elephant Bar coupons in the mail with the rest of the advertisements. My husband and I will usually order the 2 for $20 special. You get an appetizer or dessert to share and two dinner entrees. We got the lettuce wraps last time which was around $10 alone. Our entrees were $10-$15 each, so we would have paid around $40 for our meal. Because of the special, it was $20 plus tip, and we used the gift card that we bought at a discount! This time, we only ate out alone, but we still saved money. It’s funny because our kids are trained that we normally only eat out with a coupon!
